27/07/2011: Ambassador Cuisia Meets with Senator DeMint of South Carolina
27 JULY 2011, WASHINGTON, D.C. Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. met with Senator Jim DeMint last July 26 and briefed him on the bilateral strategic, defense, and economic relations between the Philippines and the United States. Senator DeMint, a Republican representing South Carolina, is a member of the Committee on Foreign Relations and ranking member of the Subcommittee on European Affairs.
Senator DeMint expressed his interest in the SAVE Act, recognizing that the bill has the potential to boost the U.S. textile industry, increase export income, and create jobs. Senator DeMint further stressed that the Philippines “is a great ally and a good trading partner.” END
